Giving Back
Our founder attended a premier university in the early 1980’s, paying much of his way in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and full time employment. With little financial assistance from his family, but a drive to make it on his own, he successfully graduated from Washington University in Saint Louis in 1985. Recognizing the challenges of attending college, Dorm-In-A-Box launched the Giving Back program in the Spring of 2009. Those colleges who sign-on with Dorm-In-A-Box at the annual ACUHO-I conference in Baltimore, Maryland in June of 2009, will be eligible for free Dorm-In-A-Box supplies for their low-income or otherwise worthy students. Contributions equal to 5% of purchases will be shipped at no cost to the University. Universities then identify the specific recipients and track their progress. Those maintaining a grade of “C” or better will be supplied additional Desk #201 kits every year for four years to replenish their desk essentials at no additional cost. Contributions will total over $1500 at retail price, per student during their college experience. It’s our way of making things right for those who have a desire to succeed.
Sponsorship, Support & Charitable Causes
Dorm-In-A-Box is currently accepting applications for the 2010 school year for contributions and/or sponsorship of college organizations which support either environmental efforts, or which assist low income students in need of support.
